What Is Our Problem?

Why is it that not a day goes by without yet another news story appearing about how we’re going to hell in a hand basket? It’s corporate greed or government corruption today, global warming and internet scams tomorrow, fanaticism and terrorism the next day, health crises and the high divorce rate the day after, over-consuming, poverty and other economic crises following that.. and then the stories recycle all over again with new variations.

New stories keep breaking. The politicians and pundits pontificate about the solution. Each proclaims that the 'true' solution is diametrically opposed to the ones proposed by the other politicians and pundits.

This daily media barrage of “the problems, the politicians and the pundits” has blurred into a broken record, with the same song being sung day after day, albeit with an unending parade of different specifics.

The Public's Problem With the Politicians and Pundits

What most politicians and pundits have in common is that they spout political ideologies that deal with symptoms rather than advocating joining together to co-create solutions that deal with root causes.

Most politicians and pundits say that they insist on their ideology being "right" because the public does not want to face the tough issues head on.

What if the mainstream public is not as blind as the politicians and pundits seem to believe? What if the public just does not know what else to do other than to either side with one ideology against another or throw up their hands in disgust and defeat?

The Public's Two Reactions to the Politicians and Pundits

Those who side with ideologies invest tend to become crusaders wrapped in the mindset of fear and divisiveness. This is a fanatic's mind-set: the very mind-set that births the terrorism that so many people are trying to eradicate in others.

Those who throw up their hands in disgust and defeat tend to withdraw into their own self-focused world, paying less and less attention to collective highest good.

Either way, far too many people have turn into Self-Preservers, feeling reduced to looking out for themselves and their own interests as best they can (whether as an individual, a couple, a family, a community, a religion, a business or a country).

This kind of self-centeredness only makes our individual, relationship and collective problem even worse.

The Third Alternative

Dr. Gruder started asking, "What if all of the seemingly separate problems in the world are variations on a single theme?" What if the root cause of lack of personal fulfillment, relationship distress and social problems is all the same? If it is, what is this mysterious root cause and is there something practical that everyday people can do about it? Is this the vision the public needs in order for the politicians and the pundits to end their polarization?

The answers that gradually emerged turn out to be quite straightforward and common-sense!

All of our seemingly separate problems, whether personal, relationship or social, share one common denominator: lack of integrity. There is a way to understand integrity that provides a bold new vision for how to concurrently solve our individual, relationship and collective problems.

Integrity May Be Much More Than You Think

Three Core DrivesIntegrity only begins with being honest, dependable and true to our word. At an even more fundamental level, Integrity is about how aligned we are with our Three Core Drives: 1) Authenticity -- to be who we really are; 2) Connection -- to experience nourishing and productive relationships with others; and 3) Impact -- to make a positive difference in the world. Click here for more about our Three Core Drives.

Most of us focus primarily on one of these three core drives, which means that most of us neglect one or both of the other two. This has created three groups of people in today's world.

Do-Gooders, Connectors Self-Improvers and Our 3D Self

3D SelfDo-Gooders advocate that each of our seemingly separate social issues urgently needs to be addressed. Their primary purpose is to help make the world a better place. Do-Gooders find having impact in the world so compelling that they frequently neglect their personal wellbeing, authenticity, healing or creativity and/or their relationships. This kind of Do-Gooder lacks 3D Integrity. They tend not to know they are focusing on only one-third of their complete full 3D Self™. They too rarely realize how profoundly their limited definition of self prevents them from making as much positive difference in the world as they yearn to create. They tend to view personal development as being disgustingly self-centered. The too rarely realize that their lack of personal development impairs the quality of the relationships they need to develop in order to make a difference in the world. Their insufficiently developed collaboration and synergy skills cause them to force their solutions on others rather than co-discover and co-create what truly serves collective highest good. Their distorted notion of what serves collective highest good somes in significant part from their insufficient attention to their Authenticity and Connection core drives. Self-Improvers tend to think of Do-Gooders as naive in their idea that change can be created on a larger scale than one person at a time. They also tend to resent Do-Gooders for being so out of touch with how their own unaddressed personal issues compromise their ability to do good in the world. Connectors are wary of Do-Gooders because of having watched too many of them make a cause more important than connection.

Connectors advocate that love conquers all. Their primary focus is on relatedness and feeling creative or fulfilled through involvement with others. Connectors find relationships with others so compelling that they frequently neglect their personal wellbeing and/or their responsibility and drive to have positive impact in the world. This kind of Connector lacks 3D Integrity. Connectors tend not to know that they are focusing on only one-third of their complete full 3D Self™. They too rarely realize that neglecting to properly develop their authenticity creates the relationship problems they have despite how much they want connection. They too rarely understand that their incomplete understanding of self causes them to fear that attending to the needs of the collective will cause them to neglect or sacrifice the relationships that are the most important to them. Do-Gooders counter that loving one another doesn’t magically translate into action steps required for social change to occur. Self-Improvers criticize Connectors for giving up themselves too much or for requiring that others give up their authenticity for the sake of relationships.

The primary quest of Self-Improvers is authenticity above all else. This includes personal wellbeing, inner healing, development, self-expression, creativity success and freedom. Self-improvers find their authenticity so compelling that they frequently neglect their drive for connection and/or having positive impact in the world. This kind of Self-Improver lacks 3D Integrity. Self-Improvers tend not to know they are focusing on only one-third of their complete full 3D Self™. Self-Improvers tend to advocate that change can only occur one person at a time, through learning how to manifest our intentions. They too rarely realize that their limited definition of self creates the relationship problems they have. They too rarely understand that their incomplete understanding of self is the source of feeling alienated from the collective and of believing that they cannot have a real impact in making the world a better place. Connectors and Do-Gooders claim that this is precisely the kind of self-centeredness that has created our collective problems in the first place.

A Comprehensive Solution to Bring Back the 3D Self: The New IQ

I3 LogoIt is time for a new kind of intelligence to emerge in individuals, couples, families, communities, education, businesses, religions and politics. That new IQ is integrity intelligence. It is the return to our 3D Self.

The New IQ proposes a complete road map that illuminates the quantum upshift in humanity that we need individually, that our relationships need, and that we need as a collective and a planet. This book goes beneath the symptoms to provide solutions that deal with root cause.

Lack of integrity is an extremely personal issue. It is not merely a government issue, business issue, religious issue or relationship issue. It damages our own capacity for fulfillment in significant ways most people have never considered.

Integrity might not seem like a particularly sexy topic. Even though lack of it has reached pandemic proportions globally, Dr. Gruder's publisher told him that it was going to be difficult to sell a book on the topic of integrity.

Why? Because everyday versions of lack of integrity go largely unrecognized for what they are. Because most people don’t recognize the connection between lack of integrity, lack of personal and relationship fulfillment, and a chronic absence of solutions to our most pressing global problems. Because most of us have been used to being out of integrity with ourselves, others and the collective since we were children.

Our current attitudes about integrity and mechanisms for dealing with it are actually spawning more and more lack of integrity.

The world needs you. Your relationships need you. You need you.

Tell as many people as possible that The New IQ is on the way. Get it as soon as it becomes available (this coming January, 2008) and learn how you actually can create the personal and relationship fulfillment you seek even as you make more of a positive difference in the world than ever… and in a more aligned and balanced way than you probably thought possible!

The most important revolution of our time is the Integrity Revolution! Become part of it today through learning about and embodying 3D Integrity beginning today!
